Weston R. Moore

Weston Moore is an experienced attorney and investigator who has lived in the Olathe area since 1976. He began his law enforcement career with the City of Lenexa in 1981, then served as a police officer, patrol supervisor and member of the Tactical Support Unit for the Olathe Police Department from 1985 to 1992. During his service with Olathe, Mr. Moore received dozens of written commendations for exceptional law enforcement performance.

Mr. Moore received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Mid America Nazarene University in 1988 and his Juris Doctor from Washburn University in 1995. He was admitted to the Kansas bar in 1995 and the Missouri and Nebraska bars in 1996. Mr. Moore practiced labor and employment law at a large Kansas City firm for many years before opening his own offices in 1999. Mr. Moore served as general counsel to numerous national organizations and litigated state, federal and Constitutional claims against some of the largest corporations in the United States. In addition, Mr. Moore is known to be one of the most experienced attorneys in Kansas at issues related to the Kansas Public Employee-Employers Relations Act and has been called to testify before the legislature on the development of this comprehensive legislation.

Mr. Moore was recruited in 2000 to assist with the restructuring of the Kansas City School District. He proudly accepted this challenge and call to public service and served as the District's first labor counsel, drastically reducing suits and claims against the District and dramatically improving employee relations. The straight-forward approach to employee problems demanded by Mr. Moore was so effective at reducing claims that the District received an insurance premium refund of more than $100,000.

Following the attacks on the United States of 9/11/2001, Mr. Moore joined the Federal Air Marshal Service. He served as a front-line Air Marshal, providing in-flight protection to U.S. flagged commercial aircraft. He was also called upon to put his legal experience to work training federal officers on arrest law and serving as counsel to the Deputy Director in Washington, D.C. Mr. Moore went on to serve as a Mission Operations Supervisor before being appointed as an investigator to the Federal Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Mr. Moore returned to Kansas City to rejoin his family and has now opened an Olathe office to represent clients in need of assistance with criminal, contract or divorce issues.
